WELCOME TO COLD SPRING SCHOOL!

We are committed to student achievement and individual success for each learner. The students are our primary concern and we take all aspects of their growth and development very seriously.  We aspire to provide a quality education for all students while addressing individual needs, strengths, challenges, and unique learning styles so that they may reach their fullest potential.  Our early childhood learning environment fosters an appreciation of individuality, diversity, and citizenship.  It is our hope that our students will develop a desire to become life-long learners, contributing members of society, and that they will pursue academic excellence as they begin their educational journey with us at Cold Spring School.

If you are a resident of Belchertown and have a child who will be five (5) years of age on or before September 1, 2020, pre-printed registration packets are available at our office located at 57 South Main Street or you may click here for the Kindergarten Enrollment Packet, which should be completed and returned to Cold Spring School at your earliest convenience.

Remote Learning Plan

Good Morning Cold Spring School Community,

We miss you and hope you are well.  As the district transitions into remote learning, know that we are all in this together. Families should have received an email from your child’s teacher with directions on how to join their Google Classroom. I encourage families to participate in this remote learning experience. If this is not possible for your family, please contact me at amastalerz@belchertownps.org to make other arrangements.

If you have any questions or concerns as this adventure begins, reach out to your child’s teacher, guidance counselor Jenna Evans, jevans@belchertownps.org, school nurse Alyssa Vah, avah@belchertownps.org, and me. We are here to support you and your child.

Below see the remote learning expectations for CSS students. Be safe and stay healthy.

Take care,

Andrea Mastalerz

Director of Cold Spring School

Cold Spring School Early Childhood Center Remote Learning Expectations

The following schedule has been developed to support remote learning expectations. A daily schedule is beneficial to both students and families whenever possible, but can be difficult to maintain while at home during these challenging times.

Teachers are to provide learning experiences, Monday-Friday, online or through packets, for 2.5 hours. Teachers will also provide email communications, phone calls, online support and individual “office hours” twice a week for a minimum of 30 minutes. Teachers will post all academic assignments in advance on a weekly basis in all content areas. Please post the following week’s assignments by the previous Friday except on the following dates: Thursday, April 9, 2020 (No School on 4/10/20) and Friday, April 17, 2020 (Spring Vacation) assignments posted will be for the week beginning 4/27/20.

In addition, teachers will be developing and posting video sessions/conduct Google Meets within Google Classroom. We suggest faculty and students maintain online access and complete work within the traditional school hours of 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, but recognize personal schedules may vary during this difficult time.

Weekly faculty meeting - Thursday’s 8:30-9:30 AM (up to an hour)

Weekly meeting BST/EST- guidance, nurse, administration - Monday’s 12:30-1:30 PM
